Budget Sticky #1: Budget Billing

March marks the enrollment period for budget billing for our local utility company. The budget billing program allows households to pay a monthly average of their annual utility costs each month. One of the trickiest categories in most peoples’ budgets is utilities because they can vary month after month. However, budget billing gives you a monthly estimate that can easily be accounted for in the budget making it much easier and convenient to manage your monthly expenses. If you haven’t signed up for budget billing with your utility company and they offer it, it’s highly recommended for those of you who are looking for ways to make monthly budgeting much easier. Living like no one else

One of Dave Ramsey’s most popular lines, and one of my favorites, is “living like no one else, so later, you can live like no else.” I came across a forum not too long ago, that was built on this idea. More specifically, to provide a place of support and accountability for folks following Dave Ramsey’s teachings. The forum has been cleverly called, you guessed it, Living Like No Else. (more…)

The engine is going out, and you either need to get a new engine or replace the car. I’d recommend the latter.” The only problem, we thought, was that we didn’t have enough money for that. (more…)

Tornado ripped through my alma mater

Today’s post is a bit off topic as it’s difficult for me to concentrate on money issues. If you’ve paid any attention to the weather reports in the southern region of the country, you know that tornadoes ripped through Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi last night. The one that caught my interest of course was the twister that made its way through the dorms at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. (more…)
