Federal excise tax refund

The federal excise tax has been talked about on a number of personal finance blogs for the past few months. The refund can get you up to $60 from the IRS, who expects to pay about $13 billion.

But, if you’re not aware of this refund or are asking, what the heck is the federal excise tax?, USA Today’s article, IRS wants to hook you up with a refund for phone-service excise taxes, has an excellent break down of the it’s history, why consumers are eligible for a refund, and even how much much you might get back.
